Latest information 15th January 2021

Please Note:  In the light of recent announcements
about the spread of Coronavirus,
we have suspended all services in church.

Our PCC made the decision to suspend services in church because of the increasing risk of coronavirus in our Parish.
This decision was further confirmed this week when our Bishop (Bishop Will, Lewes) forwarded this request:

"The Head of Environmental Health for Rother and Wealden Councils,
in discussion with the Director of Public Health
and East Sussex County Council,
has requested that we voluntarily close places of public worship
until cases decline across all East Sussex districts."

Having spoken with Bishop Martin, Bishop Will encouraged every church to comply with this request.

Services for us will continue to be online – see below.

The reason for this is .......

We are now in a National Lockdown.

The overall rule is:  We must stay at home.
We are advised:  "You must not leave, or be outside of your home,
except where necessary".
The single most important action we can all take is to stay at home
to protect the NHS and save lives.
The restrictions announced by the Government is the law of the land.
Therefore, we should follow the advice and adhere to the rules.

Things are looking very difficult indeed with the new Coronavirus variant
and hospitals are struggling to cope.
The church is acting to reduce the risk of transmission of the virus
as far as possible in these critical weeks.
The suspension of services will be reviewed regularly.

Our church remains open for private prayer.
Please see below.
Online services will be available each week.

New Year wishes:

We wish you a Happy and Healthy 2021.
Despite the stranglehold of the Coronavirus pandemic at present,
we hope and pray that the encouraging and positive news
about the vaccines will be fulfilled,
and that the situation will be brought under control
during the coming months.

So, we pray …….

May the new year bring you …..
Troubles that last only seconds;
Giggles that last minutes;
Chuckles that last hours;
Laughs that last days;
Smiles that last weeks;
Happiness that lasts months;
Friendship that lasts years;
LOVE that lasts a lifetime.
[This prayer was spotted in a Church Magazine,
having been submitted by a lady who lives in Canada.]

May God bless you and keep you safe.

Bible verse and a prayer
for today

Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke this prophecy:
“Blessed be the Lord God of Israel,
for he has looked favourably on his people and redeemed them.
He has raised up a mighty saviour for us
in the house of his servant David,
as he spoke through the mouth of his holy prophets from of old ….”

Luke 1 : 67 – 70
New Revised Standard Version
A prayer:
Give to us, O God,
a heart transformed by grace
and a life inspired by humility.
Grant us fullness of faith,
?rmness of hope
and fervency of love.
Let our one desire be conformity
to your perfect will;

through Christ our Lord.
