Concerts

Our wonderful evenings of Music in Frant continue to bring world class music to our doorstep! Huge thanks to our loyal supporters and we encourage new members to come and experience one of our musical evenings in the months ahead.

Our next concert is on Saturday August 30th which sees the visit of one of the UK’s finest classical guitarists Raymond Burley. We are fortunate enough to attract guitarists of the finest calibre to Frant Church - thoughts turn to the magical evening with John Etheridge and Gordon Giltrap who delighted us with their ‘Two Parts Guitar’ concert in August of last year. Raymond, a good friend of John and Gordon, makes up the trio ‘Three Parts Guitar’ bringing to classical guitar what John brings to jazz and Gordon brings to folk.

Raymond is one of Britain’s most experienced guitarists.  As a soloist he has toured extensively throughout the UK, Europe, North and South America and the Far East. He has performed and recorded with many fine orchestras including the Hallé Orchestra, Philharmonia, English Chamber Orchestra and BBC Symphony Orchestra.

He has worked with guitarists Alice Artzt, John Mills, Gregg Nestor, John Feeley, Gordon Giltrap, Clive Carroll and John Etheridge; other partners have included actress Dame Peggy Ashcroft, mezzo soprano Jacqueline Fox, harpsichordists Stephen Bell, Gilbert Rowland and keyboard player Rick Wakeman. For several years Raymond Burley was a member of the Pro Arte Guitar Trio, Lyric Guitar Trio and the Alice Artzt Guitar Trio.

Tickets are on sale at Brittens Music Shop in Tunbridge Wells and online at the links below.  You can find us on facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/musicinfrant/

Planning your Visit

A Warm hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Our Service

The main service in Frant is 9.30am -10.30am.

Reverend Brendan opens the service and there is a mix of bible readings, sermons, prayer, and singing.

Sometimes there is an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service.

Church Building

What can children do?

We have a fantastic programme for children aged 0–14.... and our very own Festival Church.

Morning service:

Children stay with the grown-up for the first part of the service as we worship (sing songs!) together.  The speaker will make it clear when and where children need to go for their programmes.  You do not need to go with your children unless they are pre-school age.  The children will have great fun playing games, and learning about God in a way that is tailored to their age group

The kids group activities vary depending on the age but usually there is a friendly welcome, bible stories, testimonies, praying, music, craft, drama, fun games and free play. Please pick your children up as soon as the service finishes.
